Executive Board member James W. (Jim) Miller has studied String Bass at Michigan State University and holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Western Michigan University. Jim has played String Bass in many symphony orchestras in Michigan and elsewhere. Among those in Michigan are the cities of Alma, Saginaw, Kalamazoo, and Midland, where he was principal bassist of the Midland Symphony Orchestra for over a decade. Jim has also served on the Orchestra Committees of the Midland Symphony Orchestra and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra where he currently is a bassist. In addition to his symphonic work Jim has done extensive theatrical work in many locales and also performs in a variety of styles with small groups.
